Daniel Weintraub brings decades of experience at the highest levels of California media and government to Weintraub Public Affairs.
He reported on state government for the Los Angeles Times, managed the Capitol Bureau of the Orange County Register, and authored the Public Affairs column for the Sacramento Bee and McClatchy newspapers. He has also written for the New York Times and created and edited one of the first non-profit online news organizations in California, the California Health Report.
After leaving journalism, Weintraub was chief of staff for state Sen. Steve Glazer, serving as the senator’s top policy adviser for six years while managing his legislative program and communications.
Weintraub’s policy experience is broad and he is considered an expert on fiscal policy, economics, and the social determinants of health.
He is especially adept at translating complex topics into language that lay people and legislators can understand and act upon.
